One day Bee purchased a new laptop for school work. It had a touch screen with a pen and keyboard. Everyone wanted that laptop. It was lunch break and Bee had left her laptop on her desk inside the classroom with Ms. Teacher relaxing in her chair.

As Bee placed her laptop on her desk, she was watched by Ash who sat at the back of the room by the backpacks. Ash was hiding and no one knew where he was. He wanted to get Bee’s new laptop, so he sat still and watched, hoping that Ms. Teacher in charge of the classroom would fall asleep as she had been teaching non-stop.

By and by she began to nod, and then she fell fast asleep. As soon as Ash saw this, as quick as the wind he jumped out behind the backpacks, grabbed the laptop, and as quick as the wind he was behind the backpacks again holding the laptop very carefully. For fear of anyone seeing it stick out from behind the backpacks, Ash put the laptop in his bag. Then he sat there looking as if nothing had happened.

By and by Ms. Teacher awoke. She looked around the classroom, and finding that the laptop was not there, she cried, “Someone has run off with Bee’s laptop.” Up ran the lunch monitor. Ms. Teacher said: “I sat right here at my desk watching everyone’s goods. I did not move from my desk. But the day was long, and I was tired. I must have fallen asleep. The laptop was gone when I awoke.”

The lunch monitor told Bee that her laptop was gone. “Help me find the person who took the laptop,” said Ms. Teacher.

Away they went looking for the laptop. After Ms. Teacher went looking, the lunch monitor realized that there was no way someone would have left the classroom with the laptop as the lunch monitor was in the halls watching kids at all times. The lunch monitor then told Ms. Teacher what she had been thinking and said to wait for lunch to be over.

Once lunch was over Ms. Teacher could do a headcount and see if it was someone in her class who had stolen the laptop. The lunch bell rang, Ash began to sweat, and Ms. Teacher soon realized that Ash was missing. “Bee let me check Ash’s backpack to see if it is there.” Ms. Teacher stated.

As Ms. Teacher reached for Ash’s bag, Ash stepped out and confessed. Ms. Teacher instantly called his parents and sent Ash home after he had given the laptop back. Ash got home and his parents were furious. They told him that he had to do all the chores and the cooking in the house for a whole month to teach a lesson to Ash. Ash apologized to Bee the next time he saw her, and never again did Ash even think of stealing.
