Inspiration: Never Give Up!
Emerald city is a bustling community that seems to always give its occupants fun things to do. Mo was a shy young boy who lived in Emerald City. He lived there with his Mom, Dad and Sister. Every week Mo’s family set apart a day so that they could spend time together. This week they all chose to do something on Sunday. That morning Mo’s sleep was interrupted by the bellow of his little sister begging the family to go to a farm. She had never visited one and really wanted to see the animals. They all agreed and promptly got in the car and began the 5 hour journey to the farm. As they were pulling through the entrance of the farm they spotted a man in blue denim overalls and a big straw hat.The man greeted them saying ”Hey y’all, I’m Farmer Jo, would y’all like a tour of the Farm.” Mo and his family didn’t hesitate for a second and took up the farmer’s offer. Whilst walking around the farm Mo spotted a gigantic bull standing still in an open field. Wanting to catch a glimpse of it from up close, he slowly crept towards the bull. As he got closer and closer, he noticed that the only thing restraining the bull was a tiny piece of rope tied to its leg. He was surprised by how such a big creature was being restrained by a small piece of rope.
Mo, unable to understand this, immediately scanned around to look for Farmer Jo. Mo finally spotted Farmer Jo and asked him if he could answer a question for him.”Yah sure, what’s the matter kid?” said the farmer enthusiastically. Mo then proceeded to inquire about the bull, and how such a large creature could be restrained by a small string.“Well you see kid, when the bull was really young, it was restrained by the same rope. Since it was so much smaller back then, it couldn’t escape. As the bull grew up, it continued to believe that the rope was much stronger than it. That’s why even now it does not try to break free.” responded Farmer Jo.
Mo was amazed. The bull could break away from the rope anytime and escape. But just because it stopped trying and believing that it could, it stayed captive.
